Cool, thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to try some of these techniques out...

I read about alot of guitarists in that style using the older Zoom 9030. I also see the Big Muff mentioned alot.

Don't know if this will help much but I've been getting some pretty decent sounds just using a little box called a RedBox Cabinetulator. I've got about 150 short MP3's on my website & they were all recorded direct using a Gibson L6S and an old used Boss ME-5 multi effects unit with the Cabinetulator plugged into the effects send/receive.
Try 'GHA Lead', 'Scary', 'MoogBoog' or basically anything that has chunking or tapping in the title. They're recorded in lo-fi mono but you get the basic idea.

Hey Dolemite,
I went to school for music in Iowa City. Lived there seven years. Have a drink at georges for me. Its on Market street.

To get an insanely overdriven guitar-wall-of-sound just double parts as needed on different tracks. This sounds simple and it is. try it you will dig it.

Other tricks. Shift the other guitar faders up on the chorus and use dynamics in your recording then your industrial music wont sound like crap because it will have ...voila ... dynamics. You can always try boosting about 3db at 2.5-5k works wonders. adjust your predelay of your reverb to match the room the guitar was recorded in. Measure the distance to the wall and figure in 2.9 ms per meter unless the room was hot when you recorded it. Then it will be a little more.

I can get better results miking nearly any guitar cabinet than I can get from a Pod or a Johnson or whatever. Put a mike right in the speaker cone and another one in the room and watch yer phase.

Guitars are not so bad. Recording Drums well is what makes it in my opinion.

Cool...yeah I walk by that place every day, never been in there. So how do you get from Iowa City to Amsterdam? ;)

Dolemite,

I took a plane here. I am in school at SAE Amsterdam. Very cool
