I have been running 8.04 with the Production Toolkit 2 on a pc desktop since 2009, but recently acquired an old imac & want to install my Pro Tools on it. Have no plans to use the pc anymore. I installed the software, but when I tried authorizing, it says my code is invalid or authorized for another computer. Can I remove authorization on my old pc? Is Avid refusing to authorize because it's a non-supported vesion of Pro Tools?

Hi there,
The code should work, but formatting is important. The correct code should start with "DIGI0800" <- Those are zeros.

If it's possible to copy and paste it from somewhere, I'd try that.
Log in to your digi/avid account. All codes should be listed there.

LE Authorization codes...
* consist of 3 groups of 8 characters
* have a single space between each group of characters
* are case sensitive
* start with "DIGI" (all upper case)
* use lower case for other letters
* use “0” (number) and not "O" (letter)

If memory serves, the code should work on as many computers as you like.
The extra 'security' is the fact that you need Digi hardware to run the software, so the code isn't really useful on it's own.
