Trouble with this setup..please help!!

What's going on, everybody?

I just got a Peavey PV8 USB mixer.

My path is:

Blue Baby Bottle mic, to the Peavey USB mixer, to my computer (windows xp, sp3)

My problem is, when I load the beat into Audition and record, it just skips and doesn't pick up my voice that good. I know there's something wrong on my end, I'm just not sure what it is.

Any help would be appreciated!

I am not sure if your mixer is also a proper audio interface.
Did you load Asio drivers for this and selected them in AA?
