Trouble with Tascam US-800 and MXL V63M

Hello everyone! This is my first post, so bear with me.

So I just got a package from Musician's friend which included a set of M-Audio BX5as, a microphone, M-Audio Oxygen 49 MIDI keyboard, and a Tascam US-800. The only problem I am having is that the microphone, the MXL V63M, won't send record or even sense audio (send a signal?). I plugged in a guitar to the Tascam US-800, and that worked just fine, but the mic won't seem to work. For the record, I am running this on a Windows 7 laptop and Reason 6, with the aforementioned microphone, interface and monitors.. I don't know why it won't work so...help?!

Did you turn on the 'phantom power' switch on the back of the US800? Your mic is a condenser, and needs phantom power to work.
