trouble with multi-track recording.

Can anyone tell me why cool edit pro will not recognize all of the inputs of my Aardvark 20/20 sound card. I am set up for recording in mono and I have all of my ports set up correctly. When I try to record multiple tracks at once I recieve an error from windows that says "Cannot open specified wave devices for recording. please make sure you have a full duplex audio card configuration and verify that the chosen audio devices will work together simultaneously." I use this same set up with Cakewalk Pro Audio 8 with no trouble. Cool Edit Pro will not recognize more than two of my inputs at a time. It does not give me an option to select all of my input ports at the same time. Does any one have any ideas?
 
have you assigned the devices in your options menu?? thats dufferent than assigning your input device on each track....

When I try to access my inputs through the options menu cool edit pro will only let me select one pair of inputs at a time. It never gives me the option to select all of my 8 analog inputs.

Yes It shows every set of inputs, but the drop down window will not let me select more than two inputs at a time. I have been able to record successfully with only two inputs in use, but if I go for three tracks at a time, that's when I get the error from windows.
