Hello! I've successfully installed the Triton Le sampling option. My next move is to get an SCSI device. Now, i'm planning to edit my own samples(on the computer) and use a hard drive to store them and transfer to the triton. Right now i'm using the Smart media card(with card reader) but not much space there! Just wondering if i could get an external hard drive for the computer with usb and still be able to use that same drive to hook up to the triton. I'm still brand new to the SCSI stuff so don't grill me too hard!

No. An external USB drive does not support SCSI. There ARE drives that support both (Zip has one and Jaz has one), but you should realize that SCSI is not USB and that they are almost always incompatible.

USB and SCSI are both interface types.

Thanks for responding! So, is there any way that i can edit my sounds and save them on the scsi hard drive that i'll be using with the triton le? Also wondering if i could save and load songs from the drive too.

Add a scsi port to your computer?

Thats the way to go. You can buy a SCSI card for nothing on ebay. I use an adaptec 2940UW ($7) for my a3k sampler and I can edit right to the sampler via scsi and access the HD via my computer. Nice thing about scsi is that it's 100% reverse compatible so all you need to connect devices together is the correct cables

WOW! Didn't know that. Thanks for the info guys. I'm gonna go ahead and purchase me one of those scsi cards. Like i said, before the triton, i hadn't really messed with scsi so i was clueless. I know alot of other stuff about computers but not that. Guess i was sleeping in network class that day! Thanks again!
