I get the trip-hop references. The rhythm and atmosphere is not unlike something Portishead might've come up with. Without the unsettling crunchy samples though, this is a different animal. I like it. I like the discords, I like the singing. I like the lounge piano. What I'd like more is some lo-fi crunchy, scratchy bits to please the ear. Some harsher textures. It's nice, but a bit smooth. More dramatic texture contrasts, please.
Cool song. Reminds me a little of a laid back nightclub feel. Sounds good. Like the verb on the vocals. I noticed a little pitchiness in the vox and instruments but I think it gives it flavor. Great job.
Not a big fan of the dissonance. (Maybe vocal's just a bit pitchy in the beginning, it seems to get better later.) Mix-wise, seems maybe a little muddy on the bottom. The piano I'd brighten a bit. Pretty creative stuff, I like.
