I'll post this in two places, because this started in the Microphones area:

I am now using an sm58 to record my Kick drum. How can I use that to trigger a sample when I hit the kick? Is this possible using just the drums, sm58 and Adobe Audition? I have no mixer or Di box or preamp. I record straight into the sound card.

first, you record the kick with the mic. Then you buy Drumagog and use it as a track insert on the kick track. It will replace the mic'd signal with a sample of your choice.
