I recorded a song with Protools LE and experimented with the kick drum placement. As I was mixing, I realized that it was a mistake. Is there a way to use the existing kick track as a "trigger" and trigger another kick sound that is already sampled?

Thanks

there's plugins like SoundReplacer you can buy

If I just wanted a down and dirty way to do it, I'd either separate all the kicks at their transients using beat detective and then copy and paste the new kick in it's place....or use the tab to transient feature to tab between each kick and just paste the new one. Wouldn't take too long.

Here's what I would do.. I would analyze the good Kick drum with beat detective to extract the groove from it.. get a rough recording of your second kick drum and quantize it to the grid with no swing, just straight %100
quantized to the grid.. then apply the groove you extracted from the good kick drum to the second kick drum.. presto.. should be synced right up and nice and tight.. Good luck!
