I'm close but still no cigar!
I'm trying to integrate the Trigger Finger w/Reason and the Enigma Software but it's not coming along as easily as described in any of the manuals.

In REDRUM there are 10 available drumsound to trigger but my Trigger Finger pads are only triggering sounds 1-8 and then mirrored on the remaining 8 pads. I've tried configuring the Enigma software as well as physical MIDI assignments with no luck. I've got tons more questions but too many to list here so are there any other user knowledge or FAQ bases for M-Audio?

One last thing....I'm also wanting to use my midiman Radium 61 in my MIDI setup, is it possible to run the Trigger Finger through the Radium and at least have both setup and ready to use if not use them simultaniously? Is it just a matter of having one on Channel 1 and the other Channel 2?

The last question first --- midi channels apply but at the same time don't apply when working with USB and soft synths like Reason. If your computer has more than one USB port, plug the Radium into one and the Trigger Finger into the next --- then your software should recognize both and allow you to choose between them for individual tasks.

I'm not quite sure what to tell you about the Enigma problem, except that I've seen a bunch of confusion regarding that piece of software. In general, Reason's Redrum is simply triggered by midi notes --- it shouldn't be too hard to get the correct midi note #'s in the Trigger Finger, considering that's it's designed purpose...

I reprogrammed my Trigger Finger to map (via 4 presets) to all the ReDrum Pads and knobs. (well at least the most important ones to me)

I also mapped all 10 positions to 10 pads. :)

It takes a bit of time to remap it though.

I also remapped my trigger Finger to Batteries 72 Cells

Also if this is reason 3.0 once you set up all your interfaces, they are always available to Reason

However I just got rid of my Radium for an EMU X-Board. The Radium shows up when it wants to in my midi config. With the X-Board no issue, just plug and go :)

So you're saying there's a chronic problem with the Radium? And the E-mu X-Board is the solution? Sorry but I don't buy it - neither your report nor the X-Board...

LOL. No Need to Buy cuz I wasnt selling it.

So for the thread starter if you would like a copy of my Trigger finger enigma program patch to dump into your trigger finger email me privately.

2nd Mr Mad Scientist - Yes it is nice for me that My gear works. I have to have workable gear cuz a client paying me by the hour and breathing down my neck puts me in a position where I have to get gear thet JUST WORKS.

Chronic problems?? I dont know. All I know is how it worked on my Powermac Systems OS 10.3 and OS 10.4 It liked to play a disappearing act which I relate to the drivers. Whereas the Trigger finger is class compliant (plug and go) and so is the X-Board that I replaced my Radium with about 30 days ago.

Class - Compliant means Plug and go. And that is what I need. I dont need Driver issues. So I relay my experience.

SO put your wallet away cuz I wasnt trying to sell you anything.

Hey giles...I would be very interested...in your patches, not your keyboard! I'm not sure what you and the scientist have got going on but simmer down...jus simmer down.

I'm using Reason 2.5 for all of this. "They" say that the Enigma software is supposed to be easy but I've found nothing but hours of frustration. I've continued to fool with it and am still only getting 8 sounds out of 16 pads and cannot trigger drums 9 and 10.

Mike. No way ';d give up my Finger. LOL That is my Baby. But glad to help a fellow user.

I was talking of the patches :)

Send me an email so I can send it to you. EMAIL, Not PM, EMAIL

I dont know what scientist has up either. I am a clown, catch me on the right day I'll debate you just to unwind.

Where did you get that? I didn't say anything of the kind. I don't begrudge you or your gear working, so don't browbeat me with your barely disguised anger. I assure you it's misplaced.

Hmm shall I quote a message you left that was dripping with sarcasm????? and we can take this private. :) If it is even worth it which I dont think it is.

wow,
way to detrail a post. Anyway...

Yes, IIRC Reason has only one input for midi control so you may need to merge the Radium and the Trigger finger midi signals (they should probably be on separate midi channels though) Then you should be able to map both controllers to whatever controls you want in the standard way if you want "global" controls, meaning using the controls over mutiple instuments.

If you don't care about global midi control, then just patch the radium or trigger finger to what ever instrument you want and assign (midi learn) the controllers to that instrument

Yes, please do quote the message that I left that you took as 'dripping with sarcasm'. I want to see what I said that got under your thin skin.

And I don't think it's worth 'taking private' either'.

Reason 3.0 allows multiple midi controllers and has a handy screen for choosing/merging them right inside the program.
