So I had this cover of an "Angel" tune I did a while back and the drums were weak. So I used my new Steven Slate drum samples. I replaced the original kick and snare. There is a hell of alot of samples to choose from. Pretty cool. Saves alot of time messing with eq's and various plugins to get a good sound. I used the samples based on Nervana's Nevermind sound. Sort of sounds like it. Oh yea please forgive the singing. It sucks http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplayer.m3u?id=5571921&q=hi

This was a fun listen bushmaster...you certainly have that 70's-sounding doubled vocal sound down. I am often impressed by that with your recordings.

As for the drums, I don't recall anything wrong with the sound of your kit...I guess you weren't happy with it though? I don't pretend to understand what people do with drum sounds these days...samples, triggers and whatnot, but for this, I might simply offer that I'd rather hear a little more kick and a little less snare. Some timing issues there as well I think, but again, a fun listen.

Sounds good, Bush. I don't know the original, but the vocals seem a little strained and/or pitchy at times. Nice, big 70's sound. The drums might be a little loud overall, or at least the snare. It's a deep snare sound, so it takes a lot of room. Heat miser already mnetioned the timing issues. Just a few of the rolls are a little shaky. Great guitar sounds and overall sound and vibe are right on.

Yes very pitchy. Was an older recording. There are many times it would be nice to have different snare, kicks and others available. Especially since I would like to open up my studio at some point to record others (demo quality that is, on the cheap side). And most want their drums to sound like this person or that. And these Slate samples are way cool. I just remixed "For Whom The Bell Tolls". Me and my son did it about a year and a half ago. He is no longer at home and doesnt have interest in playing. I miss him, but you have to let them grow up. Anyway I replaced the kick and snare on it. The toms are not replaced, but when I have more time, I will. Its posted too. Im just glad I can get out into the studio again. I need the musical therapy. :)

Yeah, pull the snare back a little!
Excellent chugga guitar sound.
Better bass than the other one!
Good work.

The crack sample of the snare is triggering too much. I gonna force the hard hit instead, and lower it if need be.
