I eventually will get some decent heads, but right now I'm working with Pearl heads. I tried tuning the non-beat sides higher than the beat sides, it sounds better, but almost too high.
Mute each head while you get the pitch for the other. But always keep checking the interval between them.
Then get each drum to the same interval (if that makes sense)... So every drum has the same pitch difference between the two heads, but they have different pitches from each other...

Although Ive noticed them getting snubbed a bit on this site, get ya self one of the tension gauges to tune your drums. It will make them sound like drums, give you the intervals you want and then once you get used to playing on tuned drums and you start to realise that the tensioner is not an exact science you can start adjusting and tweaking to get the sound you want. I love em.
