I haven't had the chance to get out and try the Triaxis Preamp. The Dual Rectifier obviously has the crunch I'm looking for, however does the Triaxis compare?

I'm also looking to purchase 2 12" Speakers. Most likely Celestions, but any other recommendations would be appreciated. I'm basically looking for an idea of what the best speakers would be for a 2x12 cab. I'm into everything from Death Metal to Jazz. Also what would be a decent price to pay for two 12" inch guitar speakers. Used/New?

They are very different beasts... I have the version 1 software Triaxis (missing the Recto chip etc), but I think its the greatest sound on earth...

If you can find the money, get the Triaxis and a 6L6 power amp... you CAN"T use a solid state power amp, it just doesn't do the job, gotta have power tubes, and the EL34 tube isn't voiced for the Triaxis. Ideally, you'd get a Coliseum, or strategy power amp, for awesome tone, but I doubt you'd ever need the power. Better off with a mesa 5050.

Dual recto's I find are VERY thick, tone wise. I find them too thick (I play palm muted metal rhythms a lot). My playing style is much better suited to the Triaxis sounds. The triaxis BTW has more grunt than you think it does. There is a reason why most of the major touring bands use Mesa Boogie Triaxis rigs, because they are the best. I REALLY doubt that many people are seriously using recto heads, they aren't as good as they are made out to be. Too bassy.

On the Speakers, get vintage 30s.. just do it. Best sounding speaker out there (EV's are cooler, but less popular, but I got one, it makes my sound)
