I was reading some reviews today in my new tape op issue and I noticed that in a lot of them-- like any other magazine-- they sugar coat everything. Is it just me or is this how you guys translate most reviews as well? I guess I'm just jealous they get free gear to play with all of the time. 
warm= dull no transients 500hz +20dbs dull Q
bright/crisp high end= 6-12khz crackling <zzzzzzssss!>
crisp attack= absence of 500hz-2kzh
tight low end= lack of anything below 100hz
tight lows and crisp highs= no mids
I think this website is the only place I can really go and get honest reviews.

They keep saying the checks are going out but...
