HI.
I just purchased a korg d16 multi-trak recorder and am looking into how I would get a song from that to my cpu to post on this site or whatever. What kind of software would I need for that sort of thing, and what is the process for transfering a song from the d16 hard-drive to the cpu.

Go from the digital outputs of your recorder to the digital inputs of your computers' sound card. If it doesn't have digital ins, then you're kinda' screwed if you want the best sound quality.

If you're not that picky, you could just go from the RCA outputs of the Korg to the analog audio input of your current sound card. You'd need a "Y" cable that goes to a 1/8", and plug that in to your sound card's input . . . if it's like most standard sound cards.

There's lots of software you can use. Sonar, CoolEdit, N-tracks, Soundforge, Vegas. You might even be able to use Windows Sound Recorder if you want to keep things simple. Take your pick.

Thanks Chess! That gives me a good idea of what I am up against,If I want to delve into that possibility. Thanks for the help.

I think M-Audio has some cards that handle just digital transfers (SPDIF ins/outs, etc) that aren't too badly priced if I remember correctly (I think around $90). As for software, CoolEdit...I'm amazed by all the stuff you can do with that program...I even have a copy of Cooledit 96 and even it amazes me!

Thanks Basslord! So what kind of bass do you fish anyway? Small mouth, Large Mouth, Rock bass, or Victor Wooten Bass?;)

No prob mg, LOL....actually neither of those. How bout this setup: Sea Bass and Geddy Lee Bass :D Probably surprised I even fish aren't ya? hehe, in my opinion salt water fishing is the best fishing...if I go freshwater (which I live by the Ohio ironically) it's usually just catfish or whatever takes my line. And Wooten...extremely good but kinda flashy...Geddy on the other hand, kicks ass!

Ya, very nice setup! Too bad I live in the middle of nowhere close to any salt-water. So I wouldn't know about salt-water fishing :(

Someday maybe I will get on one of those big boats and catch a Marlin or something. That....Would be incredibly fun I bet.
