What you have there, my friend, is a really nice Samick guitar. :)

They're made in Korea in Samick's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. The reason they're so good is that the company who's name they're sold under (Tradition Guitars) insisted that Samick use the same (lower) tolerances and tougher inspection criteria that Samick uses on their own guitars with the Samick name on the headstock. Samick manufactures guitars for just about every company you can think of, including Fender and Epiphone, but those companies have higher tolerances and allow lesser-quality guitars to go the stores to be sold, because they sell higher quantities based on name recognition. In other words, you have to sift through a lot of crappy Epi's, Squire's and Korean-made Fender's to find a good one. Samick and Tradition guitars are ALL better right off the bat because of the stringent inspection process. Cort is another Korean/Indonesian manufacturer who makes guitars for several other companies, but put out a better product when their own name is on the headstock.

yup

yeah i played one once it sounded ok but played like crap!
it was an SG copy that they made dang near as good as a real one in sound and the body was made well enough but the action was lousy and it had loose ends on the frets that would catch the strings if you played it hard and really had a high action the pickups were really hot and prone to buzz and give you feedback which is cool if you are playing that kind of music but i was on stage playing live and did not happen to need a screaming guitar in that song
i guess that they might have just happend to make a junkie that time and i know that it was sold off ebay cheap to a non guitar playing moron........ it sucked
so they may well make ok enough guitars but that SG had to be replaced with something we could play.

when i bought mine, the owner of the store set mine up for me. i think it plays awesome. i need to put some heavier strings on it though. the owner of this particular store new the original owner of the "tradition" guitar company. he said that he personally created the pickup designs. he would take them overseas and stay there until they were able to duplicate exactly what he wanted....
