has anyone seen a good way to layout a song on paper,
to keep track of what happens when????

I use standard music notation with all the parts on the appropriate staves or staffs.
You can buy pre-printed staff paper.

Thanks DJL I can use that. but i was thinking of maby a chart so you might be able to see ,there will be a horne part here later so
i could know not to put a solo here
______________horn horn__________
_____solo______________Solo-------
-------------

maby this would work. Thanks for the other sheets.
it hard not to cluter with multi track.

I just keep notes and keep them with the track sheet. Anyways, I'm glad I could help you a little bit anyway.

I made my own using Excel, with each instrument track using a different color. It also includes volume and panning data but is somewhat cumbersome to use. If you have patience it can be a great learning tool.

Well, why don't you post it here...attach it...so we can check it out. Maybe somebody else here can tweak it and make it even better...less cumbersome....
