With all these new tape simulation plugins coming out I have always wanted to take some of the old consumer reel to reel tape gear I had and try a mixdown to it. Well I finally did that. While the tune isnt the greatest, I like the outcome. Remember Im mainly just a home hobby guy. So this is some cool shit for me 
First link is the mix I posted a few days ago. 100% in the box mix.

Second I routed the mix out of my DAW into my Mackie 1640i to utilize its analog eq and pump it up some. Then I went from the mixer to a vintage Akai Reel to Reel. From the tape I went back into the DAW. I like the outcome. May have to buy me an old Revox or Otari deck to mix down too. Let me know your thaughts !!
