hopeless midi

New member
I am totally new with using MIDI..........

I have a Triton Pro.
It's great and I love it, but I can't make it talk to my OPX-PRO II VST Synth.

The OP-X is being run with Cantabile v2 Lite. (the only vst host that will run The OP-X with Win7)
I can use the mouse to trigger the sounds, but not with the Triton.
The MIDI input (on Cantabile Lite) is set to OMNI.
I tried to change MIDI channels on both the Triton and Cantabile, but nothing...
I'm using the M-Audio UNO and there is MIDI being detected, but no sound...

I'm not looking to do anything fancy....
Just make the Triton play the VST Synth..If it's possible..

Can anyone help??!?!?!?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Just to clarify, when you press a key on the Triton you see midi activity on the UNO.
If so, then there must be a routing issue between the UNO and Cantible. Does the UNO show up in your list of midi interfaces available in Cantible?

MIDIOX

Load MIDI-OX to make sure the Uno is truly passing MIDI into your puter.

After you install MIDI-OX click the "options" tab and look for the Uno in the device list. Select it for in/out.

Open the "MIDI Port Activity" app and you should see the lights flicker for that device if it is passing MIDI.

Also, make sure you are using the latest drivers for the Uno.

Did you konw that if you record the word "MIDI" then play it backwards, it sounds like "evil".... :) I've been avoiding it most of my life. Good luck...
