....man, what were those guys at lexicon thinking? ........... doesn't that do some small damage to the unit, constantly plugging and unplugging it?

No more than flipping the switch does.

Puzzled here. When can you not change it? Do you mean once the two track mix is printed?
Wayne
Oh, when the effect is recorded with the signal. I like to audition the effect on a dry track. You Know what I'm talking about, Wayne. I have a friend, who cannot play his electric without the reverb knob on 10. I will give him tons of verb his headphones, but record the guitar dry. We add the reverb later. Or NOT!

I've used both, and prefer the M300, primarily fo its ability to bypass the effects and use it as a standalone 2 channel A-D/D-A convertor. I also find it a simpler unit to set up and use.-Richie

The MX200 can also be used as a standalone ADA converter. If you put it in "dry track" mode you can send a dry signal out the SPDIF, and send an effected signal from the analog outs. Great for getting a little verb in the phones or monitors while recording a dry track. (or just using the ad)

I have the MX200. I'm not really impressed. I don't like the plates, which is a shame. The chamber verbs are cool, they have an intresting vibe. Some of the effects are neat. The audition feature is fun. I got mine for $150, so that pulled me toward the lex over the TC.

And oh yeah, there's really no problem not having a switch on the unit. A few of my boxes are switchless. A rack power conditioner is good to have. I just have everything on a master switch. Any power strip would work.

I know.....I just thought it was kinda cheesy not to place an on/off switch on it.....They had me looking hard to see if perhaps there was a multi function on one of the knobbies that served as a power switch.

Yep, everything I got gets filtered/switched via power conditioner/strip...But still, I never seen many items without their own switch....Maybe it's cause it's powered off a wall wart.

I got a cordles mic receiver I ain't turned off in two years cause it too ain't got no power switch and it has a wall wart...Just too danged hard to dig back there and unplug it, so I leave it powered up....I guess I could plug it into a strip and switch it there.

This would make a great poll question: "how many items you got that ain't got an on/off switch"? :D

my soundcraft mixer also has no power switch

I wonder is there is a reason for that?....I know they ain't trying to save a buck per component by leaving out the on/off switch....Maybe if folks are forced to use power stips/conditioners for switching, then they have fewer returns due to power spikes.

My mixer/processor/effects rack has grown to the point that I don't want it all powering up at once off one switch...I prefer to first turn on the power strip/conditioner, then just what I need as I need it....I don't want my tube stuff in the loop when it all surges up.

yea and if you saw where the power cable plugs into the mixer (underneath recess ) you would understand why this is such a retarded omission.

The power rack should be powered up first then everthing that runs off it powered up starting with sources first through to speakers last . That way you dont get any horrible pops through your equipment. cant do that if half your gear has no power switch .

Hold out and save some more ahd get a TC M one. The M 300 is good, probably better than any new lixi unit under the 550 but the M 0ne will let you talor everything exactly to your needs.

I got a loan of one last week and my lexi MPX100 is making way for an M one in my rack as soon as budget allows. You can use the M one as a stand alone convertor and it's good, real good...I can hear the difference from my Delta 1010

I Love myTC M One XL! It's $399, but it has more routing, and effect variations than all the others that I have tried. Worth the extra hun, in my opinion! :D
I second that; I love my M One XL! Had I have had the extra $$$ I probably would have opted for the Kurzweil Rumour though.
