Top sinking on an acoustic

From time to time I see a "project" guitar for sale. Seems one of the more common projects is that the top is sinking. How the hell would you go about fixing something like that? Seems to me that once that starts..... you are pretty much strumming firewood. Do you reinforce the bracing? Replace the whole top? Sell it on ebay as a project?

When tho top sinks, it's either firewood or a wall decoration... take your pick.

The manual that came with my Taylor says that a sinking top is a symptom of a dry guitar.

Do you live in a dry climate? Is it too late to try using a humidifier on it?

Oops, re-read your post. Apparently it's not a guitar that you currently own and I see you live in San Diego...sorry.
