Tomorrow Never Knows vocal effect

I know John Lennon has his own distinct voice but I would like to be able to get that slightly distorted and doubled vocal effect that he gets.

Also, is there a comprehnsive George Martin book or interview where he goes in detail on teh different techniques he uses on the various Beatles tracks? I know the Anthology DVD has some stuff but I would like something more. Thanks

According to the Mark Lewisohn 'Beatles Recording Sessions' book Lennon's vocals on the 3rd(?) verse, 87 seconds into the song was fed through a leslie speaker. Before that point the vocals was just treated with ADT.
