Are Sonor 400 series tom mounts sturdy? I mean, if I mount them on the bass drum, will they be knocked out of place if I hit hard? Because I did have one chance to plya a SOnor FOrce 3005, but I didn't play hard, so I didn't see anything wrong with the mounting system... But I'm asking because 600 series hardware is a lot more than I can afford. Even if I work during the summer, getting 600 series tom mounts means I wont be able to afford the DW 9000 pedals I really wanted to get.

I actually had to go to the local drum shop in order to give an honest opinion on this. What I found was that the 400 series was pretty solid. I moved the toms into my playing preference and tried moving them after and it was very solid. While playing they didn't move. I don't know about long term abuse. But if you are buying this new Sonar does have a 1-year warranty, and they will ship you out another one. So thats all i got for now hope it helps

Thanks... I wasn't sure if I was just biased when I tried it out. I guess it will work for me, and even if it does break, I can get the money to replace it next summer. Which gives me one year, just enough for the warranty... I need less than $100 for a set with 4 toms and a bass drum... Ill get the other three toms and second bass drum at the end of the summer. The info you gave me saved me... $130-150. Thanks :D

I've never had any problems with them. I work part time in a drum shop and never had any complaints about them.

They seem sturdy to me.
