I should think so, just get hip to your latency buffering- this can make the difference between success or frustration even for a very 'lite' machine. Check for a 'sticky' here on the forums on and give it a read.
Also, whenever I want to get to know something I use google and type in a keyword, like 'audio recording, latency', and get hooked up to a few good sources of reading material. Not trying to be off-putting here, but you can build up your own, very convenient on-line library of information this way. Just bookmark the sites that offer the best, most readable information. I've printed up a few small binders worth of stuff (at the local library) I keep going back to.
I just do this recording trip when I have time, plus a little internet radio thing... and my command of instant answers isn't very good! But I see you've not gotten a reply yet, so I'm offering my thoughts.
