I know with the GT Vipre you have to got thru all the "rotary" switchs{to charge something or other}Once you do that they are quiet..You put it in mute then go thru each position..Then you don't get the clicks{thru the speaks}..Once you power down though you have to do it over again..perhaps its the same with this unit?Just a idea

Thanks guys. The problem with both TD-1's my friend tried out were ear shattering pops when making any change on the front panel, and the pops were most definitely sent down the audio lines to the speakers. He's trying to get to the bottom of it, and is really bummed out because he liked the sound of the TD-1.

As far as charging the pots, that's interesting, although in this case the switches are clikcing as well. And unfortunately, there's no mute switch on the TD-1, so it's impossible to mute the thing, make changes and then unmute it again.

Just go outta record and turn your monitor level down to nothing..Go thru the positions...May not work but Ya never know
Good luck bud

Right, but we are talking about using this DI in a live onstage show. Can't get the sound guy to turn down every time you want to change a setting or adjust the volume. The pops really made the TD-1 unusable in that live setting.

Supposedly the store is checking the units out, and Millennia has been made aware of the problem, although they didn't seem to think it was a problem. i.e. pops are "normal" when changing settings, according to them. What's clear is that the thing definitely needs a mute switch. It's got everything else!

Oh for live stuff...I guess the best bet would be a Avalon U5 or a GT Ditto..Its cheaper ..Sucks hope that it works out for ya.Good luck
