Of All the undiscovered musicians in the world, how many percent of them(or us) will be heard on MTV or a local radio staion?

5% - :( how do we get in?
50% - i have a chance
90% - thank God i love this world

Actually in my case I believe the probability runs in the negative numbers.
HEY!!!!! Maybe they'll pay me to stay off!

I went to local radios, and alternative night clubs in 1998 to 2001.

but...these bands doesnt exist anymore. :(

I'm pretty sure I'll get there (where??) again with my new band!

I dont really care about all this..I'm 28, I love play guitar, I like my actual drummer, we are only 2 for the moment, and we have a LOT of fun. This is whats important with music. :)

Lets pool all our money and buy a channel of sattelite radio! Then we will all be heard!

Air time on a sat will cost between $12 ans $40 a minute.

That was as of 3 years ago the last time I had a reason to be involved with a sat transmission project.

Of all the undiscovered musicians in the world, what percent of them do you WANT to hear on MTV or a local radio station?

I guess this depends on your definition of musician.

:D

Actually, the idea of satellite radio is not that far fetched. Sirius and XM, for however long they last, have empty channels they need to fill with programming. If you can supply them with quality programming they don't have to pay for and pitch it to them properly, you stand a pretty good chance of getting carried on the bird...

satellite radio im in........why did anybody think of that.......donations from plenty undiscovered musicians will help.....
the radio station must be name where every people know its intended for undis-musicians. you know, expect some bulky music on this channel :)

That is actually a good idea. We need a real buisness minded person (with the heart of a musician) to head this thing up. You could plug local music, local music hangouts and clubs. Bands could get air time for a fairly cheap price. Ok you talked me into it. I will be the president and CEO. So I need a $120,000 signing retainer, and I will get started right away. Make checks payable to James Blount.

About the same percentage of Artists who get their paintings into an art gallery, the same percentage of golfers who get to play in the Open, the same percentage of lottery ticket holders who get to win a prize, the same percentage of Democratic nominees for President who get to sit in the Whitehouse! etc...

I guess you're really saying why can't MTV and radio play more diverse artists? It's not about diversity, its about advertising selling lots of units froduced by large multinationals. They do not exist for altruistic reasons.

For diversity come to the internet and search for music here. One day they will totaly control it and we'll be back to square one, but for now its open season for independent 'undiscovered' musicians so make hay while the sun shines!

It's surprisingly affordable. For only $100, I can guarantee you will never show up on MTV. If any recording or performance of yours is ever played even one time on MTV, I will cheerfully double your money back!

Don't delay! You, or anyone else concerned with this very real threat to their artistic integrity, should pm me for details and where to send your check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank.

MTV may even now be planning to interrupt "Punked" to punk you by playing a bootleg copy of your latest cd or MP3, ruining your cred with serious poverty-stricken musicians everywhere! You'll be able to hold your head up at open mic night, secure in the knowledge that your music will never be heard by millions of teenage slackers with money to burn.

Act now!

Local radio is easy to get into if you sound decent. Well, IF the station is not a clear water station. MTV is also easy to get your videos played. Well, assuming you can afford it. :)

i forgot. does goodlookin a part of making music vidoes? :D
maybe you submit your pictures first on MTV before submitting your CD.
