TMD-8000 questions

Anyone know if the TMD-8000 has any of the ill fated disparities of the DM-24 fame(illustrated here

I had never heard of this board till today, and looks interesting. Any comments, pro or con?

Also, at this EBAY auction, there are TWO pics of TWO entirely DIFFERENT mixers that look alike. I am familiar with the "live" pictured mixer, but not the other that looks like a Dealer brochure pic of a mixer that appears to be MUCH smaller than the one in the other picture. What gives here?

It is discontinued, IIRC.. but a real workhorse of a board. Tascam doesn't support it anymore. . last I checked ( at least a year ago!!)

Damn, I woulda grabbed it at that price if I knew it was on ebay! I've worked on one before, and it seemed pretty powerful, and solid.

That's what I figured. Thats why I don't support them with NEW purchases
But still, those are TWO different boards in the pics and I'm still wondering what the difference is, and WHICH ONE he was selling. The one in the "brochure" type picture looks like a newer design, although I've never seen it.
