hey i was wondering if any of you use the cable rollers, where you put one end in and roll it until it's finished and take it out.. I'd love to get a coulple for my band (a lot of them don't know how to wrap cord w/o damaging them)

also im lookin for a good cable tester that's not to pricey. Thanks for the help in advance.

www.americanmusical.com and as for the rest of the band....teach them how to wrap cables correctly and when they mess up...hit them over the head with a rolled up newspaper. they'll get the picture after a while....when they do, pat them on the head and give them a treat

I'm with disrum. I didn't like them for a few reasons. The reel was heavy, for one. I hate a messy stage, and ended up wrapping them anyway to get rid of clutter. And I use about four different lengths, and the one I needed was always at the wrong end of the reel. :) I can also use the empty milk crate as an amp or monitor stand. Pretty convenient at the end of the night, tho.

any cheap multimeter with a continuity tester in it will work for testing cables.

Behringer makes an awsome cable tester. It is cheap and one of the best tools in my toolbox

a cable tester ! awesome...

naw, you guys are saying that those very long snakes on a roller aren't handy to use?
i haven't used them myself, but i guess its just more expensive than just long snakes...without the roll-thing...

I find a long snake on a reel to be invaluable except that it is a bulky thing to try and load into the truck. I love being able to coil my snakes in 2 minutes instead of 10.
