Got a project for which I'm thinking of recording a song with the help of online recording studio (Sundown Sessions ON). I've never tried before but checked with few who have done and also checked reviews online, and I guess it's a great option. But still having doubts on privacy and other matters when you give take such an option? Lot of unanswered questions and looking for someone with experience in it.

How is the online recording studio gonna help you record? Give you feedback via Skype? What kind of sorcery is this, might elaborate more? :D

+1. Unless you are ensconced in the armpit of the universe, give your money to local studio (they are BOUND to want some! Smacks a little of "vanity publishing"?)

Dave.

I just checked out the Sundown web site. They'll take your demo song, have 2 instrument tracks done (for $950, $1595 for 3 tracks, $1895 for 4), send to you, you record vocal track, then they mix it and send you MP3 and WAV files. Seems pretty steep to me.

I can do that for MUCH less, and do a better/more custom job. :D

I would not feel comfortable giving my material over to someone who I had never met. I can't speak for the prices since I don't know what those services normally cost in a "regular" (not online) studio, I agree with the other replies, find a local studio to work with. Are you just looking to record vocals?

Something smells funny to me. I would investigate further before going that route.

It could be legit, but I would never trust an online service myself. Anyone can say 'our artists have performed with xxxx'.

Sniff sniff...
