this is my setup, kick (beta91), snare (atm63he), tom (e609), floor tom (MXL1006 condenser "thinking of using something else, picking up to much of the other drums") and two AT2020's for overheads. Just wondering if anyone could give me some hints and tips as to which frequencies to boost or cut for each track. Kick sounds really good already with a little comp and some eq'ing, snare doesn't sound to bad either, would like to get bigger and better sounding toms.. Overheads don't sound to bad either, might need to play with positioning and maybe try raising them higher up. What would be a good height to have the overheads at? How far up from the cymbals?

other mics I have and could use. Sm58, ATM61he, two ATM33R pencil mics and a cheap Sampson kick drum mic that actually doesn't sound that bad..

Any suggestions would be appreciated..
Thanks!

Put the overheads up as high as you can. Take the lower mids out of the toms. Like 400Hz. Add some 2k to them for more attack.
