Tips on Burning to CD

I am in the process of burning an original song to CD. I know little, if anything about how best to do this and I'm not very knowledgable on all the tweaks one can do prior to burning.

Can someone please tell me the basic things to do to make sure that the song burns to CD with the best sound possible?

Just basic steps, filters or processes to apply prior to burning would be good.

Thank-you!

I'm just starting this process myself but basically just have your mix the way you want it in CEP then go to "edit" "mix down to empty track" "all wavs". Then you have a stereo track of the whole mix minus whatever was muted.

Forget everything but this new track and make adjustments to the levels and things of that nature in edit view. I try to get it as loud as possible without clipping. But this may not even be necessary if you mixed it right.

Convert the sample type to 16 bit 44.100 hz.

Name it.

Open your burning software. Choose "create audio cd" to make your "wav" into "cda' when it burns it so it can play on any cd player. Find your new file in your cool edit folder......And burn baby burn!

Then take your new cd and jump in your car. Drive around blasting the whole damn city with your original song.

When someone looks at you like "Hey...What's that?"
Just look at them like "that's me....Baby!"

Like I said in the beginning. I'm new to this process but I know this works for me. If I'm wrong about the best way then someone correct me.

That'll teach 'em to "double cross post".

Now we all know and it will never happen again.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHhhh. I feel better now.

dOUBLE pOST

I appreciate all the help I get here but I do find it somewhat odd that people make remarks about double posting. There is a certain amount of overlap between forums, and I suspect there are different members accesible in different forums.

Posting my question on more than 1 forum, providing there is some relevancy to the question, ensures that my question gets seen by all postential specialists or those with an asnwer. I don't think this is wrong. Also, reading a post is elective.

Anyway,,thank-you for the tips, I appreciate your time.

Let's make this forum live forever...

I don't take it personaly, but most of us, going every forum. Do you have any idea how many times we get "...I think I've replied this topic before, but where's my post ?" and you know what ? Many of us wont answer any cross post, when we find it, though we have something worth to post. Posting a topic is gambling. Like marriage. One is enough. This site is getting slow nowdays, and it's all about trafic & bandwith issue. Post a topic in one place will help this forum goes on... ;)
