Viruses, malware, spyware so many other things out there these days. They come in different ways, work differently and each machine and turn out different after cleaning.
I've been in IT for about 13 years, doing consulting mostly for law firms anything from fixing cell phones to installing servers. Cleaning viruses and fixing pcs. The guys at bleeping computer are awesome when you get stuck. The biggest thing I think people are missing when they end up with a virus is trusting things to clean it. Imagine almost everyone on the internet is that creepy guy with candy and a van trying to lure you in. It's safer not to trust them and do your research.
