time for a general upgrade..

ok $400 is my budget...possibly $500 to begin with.
my equipment so far is
1.7 ghz 512 ram
ap 24/96
sonar 2.2xl
fl studio
Behringer: ub802, powerplay xl, composer pro and B1
Zoom 2002 multi effect processor
Samson 65as
4 sm57s 2 sm 58s

I'm moving up to recording full band style instead of just using fl studio for drum beats. so where should i start first? i was thinking the mixer first.

save up a lil more and get a multichannel sound card at least 8 inputs for doing drums its gonna be around the 800 dollar range but even a 4 buss mixer with 16 ins would be around this and you will get better sound from amulti channel i/o card

Cheap n cheerful, a delta101lt and a Yamaha MG12/4 will get you 8-tracking for around $420.

Or add another $80 and get the MG16/4. Leave your ap in there and hook it to the 1010lt with s/pdif, and you've got 10 tracks
