Sorry man but I'd take Neil over Bruce :o I know that's a sin :D No new Neil though. I'd reach back to Buffalo Spingfield, CSN&Y and up to about Harvest or so.

Crap now I have to go digging so I can listen to Mr Soul. Our band used to do a rocked up version of that. I was thinking about it earlier today.

I'd be very up for that...though I'm half way through a Bruce Song! Basically I need an excuse to test out my drum loops that came today. Hope some other people get in on this, but I'd like that, Neil is awesome.

What you working on?

I'm not a huge fan, but am willing to try anything if I can add to it.

Workin on 'Long Time Comin' off Devils and Dust. Just programmed some drums until I can start strumming and singing; generally my downfall.

YES!!! Whoah. Nick, you a Bruce fan? It's by no means the most mainstream of his songs.

Bumping this; is there ANY real interest even in a Neil covers thread?

Tough crowd eh;)

I've got a super bad recording of MR Soul Somewhere. I'm afraid I'd be too embarassed to post it though

Hey Paul...I am not much of a Niel or Bruce fan, but Niel overrides Bruce for me too. If I were a better musician, I would have joined in on the tribute. I think Young was a much better player than given credit for. The CrazyHorse Documentary reveals that. His singing ain't my cup of tea though...Although, I am pretty good at *off-key* singing myself and may be able to do some howling, if needed. :D

Good luck with your Tribute !!! :)

Frood,
Neil has heaps of goo, ebven excellent, stuff after Harvest - try Mirror ball, Live Rust, Greendale for loud rock'n. try Cortez the Killer etc for loud & melodic.
Sorry I'll contribute as I can't remember how to play any of his stuff.
As for Bwuce - I love the Wild the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle & the River but again can't play any of his stuff.

I don't have a copy of that song, but I'll help out with the effort....maybe some of his other tunes. ;)

Nothing that can't be fixed in the mix with tons of reverb! :p :D

I'll throw down a version of State Trooper or Workin' on The Highway.

You know, it'll be rough as a bear's ass for that extra 'emotion'. :D

What about a Bob Dylan thread? Or Hank Williams

I would get around to some Dylan, but it's a bit...dare I say, clichéd? I much prefer Neil as an artist.
