Thoughts?

I just ordered a Dell Dimension 4600 with a P4 2.66g processor, 512m sdram upgradable to 2g, 80g hd, 48x cdrw, 8 usb and 3 firewire ports, Windows home edition with service pack 1. Ill be installing a 120g external hd for music and use the internal hd soley for the OS. My intention is to eventually run ProTools 002 rack. Thoughts? Opinions? Be nice.

Just one thought: make sure you check out Digidesign's web site for compatibility issues. I'm not saying there are any, but it never hurts to make sure--especially given the detailed specs cited by Digidesign.

Your question would have been better answered before you bought the Dell because most folks would probably have dissagreed on dell machines for recording.

Next to Mac, Ive read where Dell is the prefered box for this application... Thus my decision. hmmm
