I really don't see why everyone is so standoffish about using this software....

yeah, i was gonna say...why did you post a picture of a bunch of gay guys grabbing eachother in a big orgy?

i like Ozone now...thanks DigitalDon

It's actually a picture of the red chord playing a show...BUT, you guys wouldn't know about that music stuff so i'll just shrug that one off.

Oops, I had thought the thread was something else.

hah, the red chord, what a god awful band that is. i'm glad they're playing for a bunch of stupid frat bros like they should be instead of wasting the nation's gas by touring.

I do...I was going to buy it. It LOOKS and READS like a nice bit of mid level software. Do you have it?

zed...

Yes, I have it. It's very easy to use. It also has some real nice features. For the price, I don't think you can beat it.
IM me and i'll link you some of the songs I've finished with it.

Ah, so it is a real question.

Ozone's a great way to learn about processing. The visual control is excellent, sound quality is OK but tends toward veiled and muddy/phasey, to my ear. The spectrum analyzer is helpful. The free mastering guide pdf on their site is pure gold.

Each of the processors in Ozone are passable, but nowhere near sound quality of the Waves Masters Bundle, which I use, and lower quality, to my ear than freeware plugs available. I used Ozone for a couple years prior to getting Waves 2 yrs ago.

Better sounding plugs that are freeware, IMO, all easily found w/google:
Paris EQ
SIR reverb (actually almost any verb sounds better than Ozone's if you EQ it)
Blockfish limiter
Slim Slow Slider C3 multiband compressor
Blueline stereo widener
(I never use an exciter, so can't recommend one)
