I bought a DirectPro 24/96 in January and it came with this stripped down version of Samplitude Studio...which I don't like. So I went browsing on Aardvark's site last week to find out that they're now bundling the full version of Cakewalk 9 with it. Man, was I pissed! So, I e-mailed them about it, and I've got Cakewalk in the mail.

Now that's customer service.

I'm also interested in purchasing the 24/96 or the lx6. I would like to know what do you think of it? Sound quality? Was installation easy? How it functions with cakewalk?

Thanks
Phillymac

The customer support at Aardvark has been good in my experience with them.

I have a Direct Pro LX6 I really like. BUT, I think I will have to drop them a line and see if they'll send me acopy of Cakewalk, sine I also didn't get it. :)

Hey Philly,

It sounds great, it was easy to set up with zero problems, but I haven't received the Cakewalk yet so I can't comment on that just yet.

i got the direct pro around the same time as you and i also got that samplitude demo garbage. i never even bothered to install it. i just found out a couple days ago at their website about cakewalk 9 being included. maybe i'll call tech support too. i had went out and got sonic foundry vegas pro as a result. i don't know if cakeawalk is any better. but i'm still upset about that. plus the q10 suddenly came out. i feel like i should have saved my money.

I talked to tech support, and I had bought my LX6 about 2 days before their contract with Cakewalk started, so they aren't allowed to send me a copy... Oh well. :(

Heres the plan... buy the direct pro and/or get your version of cakewalk9. This makes you a registered user. Now, use your registered user status to order Sonar cheaper. Thats what I did, got Sonar for like $120.

I did decided to purchase the lx6 afterall in early April, I bought it at Mars which it had already included Cakewalk 9 for a staggering price of $359. So far I haven't had any problems as far as set-up or compatability issues. I haven't use my lx6 in about a month because I haven't had the time, but will resume soon. I'm thinking about purchasing more ram (right now I'm using 128mb) I want to get the 256mb as well. By increasing the ram, will it increase my ability for more tracks or be able to record with better bit rates? Please fill me in on this

Thanks

Hey there - -- Hoe do i record at 24 bit using the direct pro and cakewalk? It looks as though i just change the setting in cakewalk and the direct pro automatically does it. RIght?

Thanks lD

p.s. - --they wouldn't give me pro 9 i had to buy it
