because this has nothing to do with anything analog! In fact, this has to do with songs done on my pc......

I know this isn't the official place to do this kind of thing, but I hope this is ok.....I'm not trying to get a bunch of publicity or anything, but I wanted to show all the people that used to help me so much what I have accomplished!

www.myspace.com/ollerton

even though none is recorded on my now officially broken otari (I'm glad it never got working, I have yet to record a song besides Part I that fit on 8 tracks!) I used to ask all sorts of questions here and all the regulars used to help me out so much and was all very much appreciated :)

I've got other songs too, but these are the only ones I've gotten around to copyrighting

and for those who used to help me out so much, here's your chance to see if I ever got around to recording anything decent, and here's your chance to see what I look like

Anti, if it works for you then go for it. My computer is a dinosaur and it keeps pausing ever 2 seconds (literally) in the song but it sounds good. Like I said before you've got a good talent. The problem I personally had with digital was not in just the simple recording of an acoustic and vocal but with an ensemble of instruments. Obviously it's being done, but some new recordings do sound crappy. Have you heard OK GO? Thier recording to me sounds obliterated in digital sound. I personally think they'd have sounded better if they recorded in analog. Or thier mix was over processed or something.

I noticed you had Guster as an influence. Great band! If you haven't seem them live you should try to. They were great when I saw them.

hey thanks!

yeah when I first started recording on my pc, I need notice it didn't sound as good. Then again, I have never used any of my 703 panels, I record everything in a very live room, I've never used compression and I mostly mix on headphones. And I know the question people are going to ask is "isn't getting the best sound possible important to you?" and all I have to say is no, it's not!

Anyways, thanks for the kind words, and GUSTER IS GREAT! I may see them at the end of this month, I've wanted to see them foreever. "Ganging up on the Sun" is good, but Keep it Together is better I think. And then Lost and Gone Foreever, then Goldfly. I don't have Parachute yet though. But Joe Pisapia, the new member, did some good stuff as a solo artist and in his old band "Joe, Marcs Brother." Love those guys a lot!

I have the last three and I like "Lost and Gone.." the best. That's when I saw them, for that CD. The drummer, Brian is something to see, playing with his hands.

BTW. This afternoon was the first time I went on MYSPACE. This was earlier before this thread. I could've sworn I saw that guy Tom on someone elses friends page. Is he everyones friend? :D I could be mistaken.

yeah Lost and Gone is a good one.

yeah tom is the creator of myspace, and he is automatically everyones "friend." ;)
