wolf1010, just my humble opinion but i feel you guys should simply go back and practice some more. i think you've got some interesting tunes (the "Hhh Hhh" one was a bit strange, though) so i'd go back and improve on them before trying to record new ones. vocals really sound like they need help (or maybe that's the sound you're going for?) good luck.
 
What the heck is a .pls file? Whatever it is, I can't open it. I listened to the mp3.

Is english your friend's first language? I'm guessing not, because the grammatical content of the lyrics is completely nonsensical. I don't care for this "swallow the mic" moaning vocal style either. If you have something meaningful to say, sing it so I can understand it.

Maybe I'm getting too old for this uber-cool music, eh?

I listened to your second link. I really cannot understand the lyrics.
I think I have an idea of the arrangement you are going for: somber lines in verses and all hell breaks loose in the choruses, but you need to clarify the verse lyrics and shape up the choruses to make it happen.
Try again and post a revised version. Good luck!
