There's a couple other famous dudes that died around that same time that people wonder the same thing about:
Elvis
Bruce Lee

Also ran:
Marilyn Monroe
Hendrix
Janis Joplin

Choking on your own drug-induced vomit was the way to go back then.

cuase he needed alone time?

its like with the king....people claimed that they saw him past his death....makes you think....

Someone, forgot his name, wrote a book about his death called 'The End', where all the weird stuff around Morissons death is investigated. The doctor singing the death certificate can't be find anywhere, and the only one beside him that has seen his body was Pam.

Anyway, I read it, and in the end his conclusion is still: Morisson is dead. Sadly, but true.

it would be cool if he was still alive. i dont think he died when they claimed he did, but nonetheless, he still died. what i dont get is why is body is in france and not here....

bum bum bummmmmmm

If Jim Morrison is still alive he would have never been able to keep quiet all those years. He loved being in front of the crowd. He was a HAM!

I teach middle school, and it's hilarious seeing all the 13-year-old middle school kids spouting "facts" about why Tupac is still alive.

That and the moon landing is a hoax. :D

theres an article in the guitar world about jimmy hendrix's death this month....
for the record...i believe Jims dead, probably died in the tub...could we have it any other way really? It is nice to believe that he killed the persona and lived the quiet life of a poet, but there would have been some type of trail to point to him living longer by now...Pam died like 3yrs later...maybe for a while she could have been spending jims doors money supporting them, but what then...how would he have lived after that? it would have to be a grand conspiracy, and by now, 30yrs later we would know something about it...
or not...its a big world...he could be hiding...

i read that they are bringing him back, families of other people buried there are tired of the vandalizm...but they dont know where to put the body...hopefully LA somewhere...a tomb over looking the sunset strip...

if they moved him to la id vist. im not going to france :P

who knows what really happend to him....

...its quite fun to think that he was still alive and lived a quite life after he died...but...no one knows but him

I keep hearing the same stories about Kurt Cobain. Guess it helps sell all the records they release after the death. Hendrix had more albums after he died, than before. When you listen to some of the "unreleased" releases you realize there is a reason the artist never released it. I think John would put Yoko in the ground if he knew some of the stuff of his she released.

yeah, there should be laws about not releasing a dead musician his 'scetch book'. I mean, when you want to release something you want it to be heared by the ppl, when you ddon't release it it is 9 times out of 10 you think the material isn't ready for release yet. But still, every time when a famous musician dies certain ppl in his area think they benefit him or her by releasing some of his try out records. It even happened with Jeff Buckley...

I don't think any of those people give a damn about the artist, they just want to make money. Yoko sold scetches John did on match book covers while he was taking a shit! She took them out of the trash. Called them art. Most of the time it just serves to limit the real material from getting to the younger fans, because they hear the latest released after death crap and cope a "that guy sucked" thing. I never liked Jimi Hendrix (still don't), but I have to wonder if it's because all the after death crap I heard jaded my mind on him before I heard the "good" stuff.

Anyway, back to the lack of guitar gods...
...I find that I spend a lot more time writing GOOD songs than I don trying to be the fastest and best guitart player. It was alot of pressure back in the 80's, and it really got in the way of writing good material (which when it all boils down....is EVERYTHING). It's really ashame, though, that alot of those guys from the 80's were really, really good, but get trashed now because of all the glam shit. Funny how Image made you back then...Had to have it! Now because of what made them...no one will listen to them.

He's in the Third Reich...

...in the Galapagos Islands, under Hitlers command. All those supposedly dead rock stars are forming an army with which they hope to conquer the world through the use of vomit and smashed guitars.

Oh yea, Saddam and Osama are there too.

Jeff Buckley was an amazing musician who only got to release one studio album. The more material put out, the better.

He was headed down a destructive path to begin with. The vocals on L.A. Woman? How bombed was he? the Whooly beard...I think Jim checked out of life (living) long before he died.

Yea, I never liked LA Woman. It doesn't sound like The Doors to me.

I don't think Jim would have tried to hide himself from the public, he became an attention whore.

BTW, what made you think that he might still be alive?

I witnessed the breakup of The Doors, though I didn't know it at the time. It happened on stage at A Warehouse in New Orleans in 1971 or 1972, and it was the worst show I ever saw.

Morrisson was very drunk, and with the beard and general disshevelment, he looked like a street bum. He kept trying to tell very bad jokes and acting like he was going to take his pants off. I could not believe that this was the same guy.

On one song, he stumbled off backstage during the instrumental break and left the band to finish the song without him. After an awkward silence, someone threw him bodily back onto the stage. They started up another song, and Morrisson staggered up to the mic and started singing the lyrics to the previous song where he had left off. Manzarek kept looking at his watch. At the end of a really short set, Densmore threw his sticks onto the stage and stalked off. There was no encore.

Some thirty years later, I saw a documentary about the band, and they said that they never were in the same room again after Densmore left the stage that night. Morrisson was dead shortly thereafter.

that's kinda cool that you were there for that....pretty interesting
