if i send u a wav of my voice, can you "screw/chop" and drop it on time to the beat? just wonderin - the hook i got has to "fit" the beat . . . but damm - this a work for another project if not the . . . "crem de la crem" joint thats bubblin . . .

Ok I see the direction you're going for now... I think this can go very good with the verse. I think the hook is where the beat lacks creativity ya dig... I think we should aim towards how the beat was played in "ballin'" by Jim jones for the hook...I can work on that if you still want to use this concept/beat........that verse was Blazing!!!

im a have to git jim hjones song so i can check it 2 see how u mean it - aint heard it in a while . . . but thats good - esp. if u think the lyrics and concept "match up" good . . . i sent it to mypartner for his opinion too - as far as "a match" - i know the beat is def. RIGHT!!!
-- if u can spice up the hook thats good - cuz i did a lil choppin to it in what i posted anyhow . .

yea I really liked how you chopped that up G...I can do the hook right now fam if you want me to give it a try

yea - if u gon do somethin "dif" wit a da music - dont do it just for the "chop" cuz im good wit dat - but ifu gon switch some stuff up for a "better" match to the words in the hook - go for it . .

Aight G I did a "little" change for the hook...You chopped the beat for the hook so I just did changes for the section of the beat that you used... The change is not drastic but I believe it can go better with the flow of the hook...and Oh yeah I threw in some 808 kicks throughout the beat...let me know if you need more changes or if i should take something out..http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplayer.m3u?id=5102418&q=hi

yeah i can def. git wit da ad808 - and the added sounds - i gotta line em rite - though - im thinkin this is comin along just fine . . . !!!

:D...My dude, glad its coming along...look forward to doing business with you in the future;)....let me know if you need something else G...........~Metropolitan Area~ D.C,M.D,V.A ya dig

It would be nice to hear some original ideas now a days. WHen you turn on the radio now.. almost every song has the same instrument parts... same hooks... lots of bass to favor it up. Don't get me wrong i like rap and hip hop, but it's starting to all sound the same. It's getting so that now when they do remixes.. all the songs blend in together... it's like one continuous song. I like when artists try new stuff like Ciara, Chris Brown, even Mary J did something a little different this time around. I'm really starting to miss the old school R & B sounds... there are not many R&B artists around anymore...

dnkygirl - i feel u honestly i do - but it all depends on . . . well i know for me - i have had countless tracks and song concepts "shitted on" and passed over - cuz it was "nothing" like what people are buyin "right now" - . . . so again - an artist has to navigate the waters of customer satisfaction . . . im trippin cuz i just did a "listenin session" wit a couple of people and they only liked the songs that i did that were "same as . . ." . . .

my thing is this - an artist has to balance it out - u gotta do whats "expected" and also have a good balance of what i call . . ."album cuts" where the few the proud can get a vibe . . .

You right G!
That is why many pianists and other musicians have a hard time when it comes to RAP tracks. It's sounds so repetitive, but its more to it than that. You must have that RAP swagger within your beats. And that is something you can't create, either you have it or you don't!
I know people who tried to get in the beat game. They could play any RnB/Pop song out there, but ask them to create a Hot Rap beat ala the Rap Producer Powers that be, they didn't even know where to begin.

Me being one of those pianist/musicians myself find that rap/hip hop is extremely repeative, but so is every other song being played on the radio. If you have negative feelings towards it.. you never really get it...that sounds more like the problem. I'm a R&B type in training...

I hear ya!
That is what makes RnB n Rap two seperate entities. Many beatmakers who make RnB tracks, or so they say it's RnB, use rap beats.(the uptempo stuff) RnB has changed as far as what is accepted as being RnB. Listen to RnB about 15 years ago and it was still live bands. Now that have changed to a 2 or 4 bar loop with breakdowns in between. Is it more cupcake? Yeah!
Timberland is a good example that comes to mind. He has not changed his style, he's selling RnB beats that are more like Rap tracks........That like a new norm!

yeah.. that's interesting ... with all the styles. I have always considered Timberland to be more hip hop.. I also respect his style... it's different.. you can always tell when he has produced a track along with dark child and jazzy F. That's really what i have been talking about. It's great to create things that have some commercial appeal, but you don't want to be so commercial that you sound just like... Little Jon and just like...Dem Franchise Boyz etc.. I have heard so many songs locally with Little Jon's hook... it's just stupid. I thought it's suppose to be about creativity... and originality. I do agree with you 100% R&B is nothing like it use to be.. , but nothing in music is anymore.
