Theres no hello section!

Hi all,

Given theres no 'introduce yourself section' that I can see I thought I'd do it here. I've just finished with a band 'Project Valkyrie' after 6 years and am looking to do some home solo project work. The band has some cool achivements like being on a movie soundtrack and stuff and I've picked up some knowledge of recording from that (but not too much!!)

I've got an Mbox 2, Atmosphere, Sound Forge, Cubase SX3, and loads of other apps. I'm using acoustic guitars through a condenser MIC, vocals through the same and might add some other instruments (violins etc..). I've got a midi keyboard for strings and ambience and I'm thinking of getting a Yamaha DD55 as a midi controller for adding drums. I now have the fun task of learning how to use pro tools!

This site is great to use for any troubles you might have with anything for whatever reason!

Help where you can, and people will go even further out of they're way to help you.

Pro Tools isn't one of the main topics on this forum, so i'd recommend: http://protoolsforum.com/ for if your having any problems with that.

Cheers for the tip I'll go and register. I didn't just sign up here for Pro Tools stuff though - I just want to share ideas and experiences on anything recording related really. I also need to find out about compressors and pre amps and stuff as I'm really lacking on info on these subjects.

FYI anyone interested can hear/see the video for 'The Battle For Valhalla' which my old band Project Valkyrie did for UK movie 'The Silencer' at www.myspace.com/projectvalkyrie . I want to re-record this song acoustically to form part of an EP for self release later this year. I'm also planning to use TAXI to try and promote my music into the media industry.
