There is hope for onboard audio!

Someone mentioned this over at Harmony-Central.com:

It gives ASIO functionaliy to most onboard soundcards out there.

I tried it with my eMachines laptop and HS2004 - seems pretty good so far. I'm down to 8.7ms latency with the SoundMAX integrated audio.
