I love Randy Newman's stuff. What ability he has to cut thru the BS which is refreshing now that radical chic has become Politically Correct.
I missed some of the lyric but that could be the fault of my crap comp speakers.

As a randy fan - have you listened to hte album Nilsson Sings Newman? Probably the definitive covers/interpretations.
Pity Randy's know for I Love LA!
I've used Short people since about '82 as a tool for teaching about the silliness of prejudice.
Back to the task - you play well and your voice is perfectly suiuted to Randy's songs. There were a couple of pops but generally this is well recorded. thanks for digging into left field for a cover.
 
Sounds good to me, not familiar with the original.
But I can dig this:)
 
Great job, especially for a live piece. The vocals could use some more volume in spots, maybe ride the faders in the softer spots. Piano playing is something I always enjoy listening to and you do it so well...:cool:

You are a fantastic player. Delivery is maybe a little rushed, but I think this is fucking GOOD.


Love Randy Newman, and one of the few artists that can bring me directly to tears.

Yeah...very cool. Maybe roll of some of the lows on the vocal and it'll be damned near perfect.
