All I heard for a week was "what the hell were you thinking. This child needs a father."

Lucky you.

I'm often discouraged as to finishing up my home studio, and instead, use that time to finish house projects.

I am clearly NOT in charge :(

you're all VERY lucky. over here just pulling a permit can cost major $$ (hundreds), a long wait, and insane demands. Our power supply stuff is so overspec'ed it would suffice a small town, normal trash collection costs a fortune a month, and property taxes are in the 4 (yes four) figures a month.

Contractors got started yesterday...this has been a real lesson in how high horseshit can get get piled....

The biggest racket of all, though, has been insurance...Latest quote was over $1200 a year, with a strict limitation on theft coverage (25K)...I explained to the 'good hands' that in this line of work, theft is the biggest concern, and the limit he quoted would not even cover the cost of the guitars and amps in the building, much less the console, DAW, mics, outboards, etc...

I am starting to feel like the practice dummy at a Proctology school...

Our insurance agent came to look and thought it might be a good idea if we installed a sprinkler system in the control and machine rooms ::rolleyes:

When it rains it pours :p

That 2" deck will run under water right?

we nitted it a nice 100% wool wetsuit :)
the bad news was that, because we didn't install sprinklers, the premium went up
