Seriously - zero replies on this ?? I'm always up for constructive criticism guys , that's the only way to improve .

Wow. I don't have much to offer in the way of criticism here. I mean, I'm not so into the song myself - just a personal taste thing - but you certainly seem to know what you're doing. Too bad it's a youtube mix. That tends to discourage people from commenting.

I thought the vocals were captured really very well. The sections where they were doubled were very tight for a nice effect. The highs all seemed very crisp and clear to me.

Two things I noticed. The bass, which was pretty prevalent early in the tune, seemed to get lost later on in the second half when you introduced more elements. Also, when the acoustic drums came in, they didn't provide the impact that I expected. It looks like a nice kit...maybe bring it up some?

I also liked the fact that you smoked while you sang. Nice touch there. Don't see that too often these days.

you sound like a more talented fred durst in this song.

I never really know how to critique a Youtube video, so I listened to 99 cent revolution on your web site.

In general i thought it was real good. Good singing and cool guitar sounds.

There is some clicking going on with the drums that is a little distracting.

I'm not sure the bass is loud enough. Seems far back in the mix.

Everything else sounded good.

nice song, your raps are tight.
regarding the mix: i watched in 720p, but the mix is really harsh. it sounds strange. the harshness is killing it. the drums are also quite weak. levels are fine.

PERFECT , now there's something I can work with ! Yeah definitely I need to do some more parallel compression with the drums to really push it in plus do some notching with both kicks to make sure they work together . For a first mix yeah it is a little harsh , I didn't go to town any effects busses so I still have some automation to do . The vocals were done dry through an evoice MKII / rode nt2-a for mic then I re processed using a voice live 2 -with just effects harmony / pitch . That track was then bussed through my backup section .

Thanks for the Fred Durst shout out , hopefully one day I can be more talented AND have more money than him :p I will be doing another mix when I am back in the studio , I work out of province for two weeks at a time so it's always a little spotty in terms of getting things done fast . I will post a private .mp3 on here 320Kbs when I finish it , I'm not releasing anything other than the youtube video until I get 1000 hits....

Oh and the audio is quite terrible on that you tube video now that I listen to it .......I know why too....when I exported from Premier the audio was downgraded ...my bad
