already re-working it!

LOL

OK, link is updated with a new mix.

a bit of the high end of the synth percussion part was sliced......
the low end (around 200hz) was smoothly boosted on the lead guitar part.....
the bass guitar part was re-ed'd, for some super low roll off and a bit of 315hz reduction.....
and backed off the mastering limiting about 2 db.

guitars are my custom strat, bass is a carvin LB-70, drum track by ACID.

Very Jeff Beck with Jan hammer Live.
that's a good thing though.
Nicely done.

Nice! Love that Strat tone...Mix is very good...lots of things going on in this one...I like what you did around the 2min mark, with panned left/right guitars - cool little rhythm licks there.

wow, hadn't thought about those 2 guys in forever....
man, beck was quite an influence when i was first learning..
gotta give him props.
thanks for listening!

elcholo
thanks man!
i funked out with a dance band on the road for a while, so every once in a while, i like to leave the heavier sounds for some spanky sounds.

all guitars, were recorded without mics, using a palmer pdi-09.
that's my usacg custom strat:

Just playing "Take it All" now by mistake, this is pretty sweet!

Kinda Steve Vai "sex and religion" feel i think, which is good!

Mix sounds really nice and warm on my Phones, nice bottom end, great guitar tones electric and acoustic, although perhaps the electric tones are a bit muffled on more listens. Thats something i struggle with all the time, although it might be your preference which is cool.

I would like a touch more presence and maybe a little more volume (although i hate overly loud in your face guitar solos) on the guitar solo tone so it bites through a bit more.

Great work though!

The TIME is Magic:

Again, nice low end on my phones, Warm and deep but not muddy. Whats your bass setup?

Nice sound effects at the start, appreciate the subtle details you've added at points, i like that kind of stuff.

Lead guitar thing isnt particularly my kind of thing so ill stay off that.

Really like the part where the guitar chords come in, however its too damn short! Would like it to go on for a bit more as i think it has potential for a really nice break in the song.

Great work all round, keep it up.:)

Cool stuff Gonzo.
Sounds more like a Tele than a Strat.:p

I like this kind of stuff alot.
Post more Instrumentals! :D

jamtheguitarman

i remember that sex and religion album~
that was kickin'

the bass setup is a carvin LB70 active, into a sansamp bass di, into a dbx comp, into a A Designs Audio MP-1 tube mic pre, into a ART DPS convertor, straight into sonar.

I didn't check out the first mix, but this one sounds pretty damn tight. Great bass sound. Very slick production...love the wriling effect-laden backdrop that comes and goes.
