Intro is cool.
The crash cymbals and lead vox are on top of each other. I think it's mostly the crashes that could come down. Vocals are in the right place, I think.
I like the under-bed of talking during the lead part. Not obtrusive, but it's there.

Wrote as I was listening. Cool song.

Cool intro especially when they seem to blend & have an impact on each other.
I like the It does sound as if the cymbal is really over your head. I like the vocal levels & the harmonies are very cool. Yep, the conversation under the solo is part "there's no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact it's all dark" and part just cool. I like the quiet percussion over the outro - very nice touch. If I'd been mixing I'd have faded it out early - more fool me for doing so beacsue it works right to the end.
I am, very much, looking forward to the new album.

I was gonna say it needs work under 500hz, but if I cover my tweeters, it sounds OK.

Crashes need to really come down, Check all your highs, (I'm reading Bob Katz Audio Mastering Book, He states its easier to turn up highs on the master than turn them down. He believes a mix should actually be a little dull, so far his advice is proving to be accurate)

I'd also consider letting in a touch more body to the lead vocal, i.e. if your hi-passing at 350hz try 250hz.

Music sounds great, nice vocal.

Cool song. Sounds like Cheap Trick and RUSH had a baby. :D

It is a little sizzly in the overhead. I personally don't think the banging crash is too loud, it's just a little harsh. In the future, if you're gonna bash away at a crash throughout a whole song (which is cool as shit to me) use a darker crash or maybe use some strategic tape or moongels on the one you have to deaden it a little. The drums themselves sound pretty good, but I'd like more close mic for the snare and more lows in the kick. Overall I think the mix is a little too centered. It's like everything's coming from the middle and really stacking up, and then these vocal harmonies pop out from from the sides. It just seems a little off to me. If that's a stylistic choice then cool, but I think this could sound huge with more panning. It sounds like you have a bunch of guitar layers going on. That droning chord that holds seemingly throughout the song is cool. Bass sounds awesome. Vocals are great as always. Just make it all bigger and wider.

Thanks guys -

Going over the track sheet, we used both SDCs and LDCs as "overhead" mics. The SDCs are a little on the bright side of things, so I'll try a gentle EQ to mellow the attack on the crash.

We'll definitely be looking at the panning.

Thanks for the tips, guys. My ears are tired. :)

The definition on this track is slightly lesser than your previous songs, the song certainly sounds LPC, but kinda more straight forward poppy.
But non the løess a great pop track, btw I really enjoy the "guitar solo". Especially the end feed.
You guys allways sound like a million bucks IMO.
My only nit excwept the the great seperation you seem to be lacking (from your previous older recordings, is the snare, it sounds kinda out of place, try lowering the OH's, bring up the close mic, and lower those mids' aeround 800hz.

But still awesome band awesome music.

Classic LPC vibe :D Mix sounds nice and tight to me....

Really cool song this. I agree the crash needs to be made slightly less prominent, but I like where it's going. The drumming kind of reminds me of Tomorrow Never Knows. Nice one :D

i like this one...

i hear kings x influence, and like gregL said, cheap trick mixed with rush, is really a cool thing to do.

mix is a bit bright, but i dig the clarity
