I've just read a thread about old '57's which started me thinking. I don't really know much about the 'history' of microphones and I was just wondering if anyone had some insight to the history of the SM57 and 58. They seem to have been around for some time and are very well used classics.
Also, I was wondering if 58's with the pop-shield off really do sound like 57's like a lot of people have said. Is there a big audible difference?
