Space, the final frontier

WeaP? This a new side of your music. I like it, squished or not. Call me crazy but it reminds me of a Black Sabbath tune with a twist of Cream. Dammit, I'm getting old but some good mind altering intake will remedy that. :D

Nice Job!@!

Yah, I'm proud of this one myself. I had taken a day off of work in San Francisco and went to the studio underneath the venetian bakery on Bay Street, and I cranked it out in about 2 hours, including the bouncing and final tracks.

Oh yah, Equipment:

Tascam 244, Yamaha 12 channel stereo mixer, Ibanez dm500 delay (only effect I used), 58 on kick, 57's on snare and toms, some cheap ass teledyne condenser mike for O/H.

Bass was my Ricky 4003 out of the GK head pumping 2/15" folded horn Sunn cab, The Acoustic was my D-28 with the shadow system pickup in it (sounded great when it was new), electric was my LP Custom with the 1957 electronics and pickups, out of a 180 watt Peavey Reknown, 4/12 cabinet.

I used Fostex 6301's (the same ones I got on my computer NOW) to do the submix for the bounce.

I can't crank out a rhythm guitar track in 2 hours . The drums had that really open, loose sound I usually associate with 70's recordings. It works really well for this tune. The mix may be just a tad muddy, but I never know if that's just the encoder. I like the tune, it kinda felt like a mini rock opera, for some reason.

This is the first time I've heard your stuff. It's pretty interesting. Bring the vocals up in the mix. I noticed a couple of pops, you could have used a pop filter (though not real bad). The drums were missing some seperation. Overall, the tune was missing a little presence in the mix, but it was well performed and sounded pretty good overall. Good job.

HAHA! I'd say! it was a mono mix.

Only so much I can do with 4 tracks.

Thanks for the kind words.

Definately a Rush kind of a sound. I was expecting Geddy Lee to start singing. Nice job!!

Can't comment in the mix but I liked the song. It had alot of movement. Kept it interesting.
